I believe there are different levels of understanding truth. There is no "one size fits all" in understanding the different truths of our lives. There are different layers of truth. Our ability to understand truth can be compared to the three different ways doors can be secured. A door can be open. A door can be closed but still able to be opened. And a door can be closed, locked, and unable to be opened.
Door 1 (The Open Door): These are the basic truths that we are told. These truths need no effort. For example, we know that if we drop an apple from our hands, the apple will fall downward.
Door 2 ( The closed but openable door): Then there are some truths we discover that require effort on our part to discover. These truths can be found early on (like understanding the feeling of happiness) or can be found later on (like love). Sometimes we may have a set of keys in our hands, and it takes a while to figure out which key fits into the key hole of the door, but we will all eventually open the door. These are the inevitable truths that we will all come to understand by just living our lives, but as I said before, these truths are not just given to us. These truths we experience and feel.
Door 3 (The closed unopenable door): No matter how many keys we try, these doors are sealed tight. We wonder what's on the other side and people conjecture all these hypothesis but no one really knows. This door answers the questions of: where do we come from?, what happens after death?, etc.
